2016 西电-UTS车联网联合研究中心学术研讨会

一、 会议组织及宗旨

以谷歌、苹果引领的无人驾驶汽车为代表,传统汽车行业与移动互联网的结合打破了历史悠久的封闭汽车产业链的商业模式和规则,终将形成开放的汽车生态系统,引入新的参与者。这对于移动通信科研人员、汽车制造商和信息服务商而言都是新的机遇。在此背景下期望联合国际优势团队和国内优势成员单位组建车联网国际合作联合研究中心,意义重大、影响深远。

基于此,由西安电子科技大学主办,悉尼科技大学协办的“西电-UTS车联网联合研究中心学术研讨会”将于2016年11月5日上午8:30在西安电子科技大学北校区新科技楼609室召开,本次会议邀请了悉尼科技大学、迪肯大学的多位专家到访西安电子科技大学,围绕社会车联网这一主题进行深入研究和探讨,为进一步加强双方的合作交流。

(一)单位介绍

(1)西安电子科技大学(Xidian University)

西安电子科技大学是以信息与电子学科为主,工、理、管、文多学科协调发展的全国重点大学,直属教育部,是国家“优势学科创新平台”项目和“211工程”项目重点建设高校之一、首批35所示范性软件学院的高校之一和首批9所获批设立集成电路人才培养基地的高校之一。

(2)悉尼科技大学(Universityof Technology Sydney, UTS)

悉尼科技大学,位于澳大利亚新南威尔士州首府悉尼的市中心,是一所以商、法、教育、科技为主的综合性大学,澳大利亚最大和最有声望的大学之一,世界前200大学。

实时信息网络中心(CRIN)是悉尼科技大学研究核心之一,为现实世界复杂的分布式问题提供切实可行的解决方案——包括交通管理部门、电信公司、能量供应商、制造商以及资产管理公司涉及到的专业知识包括:网络传感器网络、智能运输系统、嵌入式系统、有线和无线通信、网络管理和实时系统。通过众多的研究资助、受邀的演讲、奖项、在国际学术期刊和会议上发表的文章,网络中心的工作已经得到越来越多的认可。

(二)专家介绍

(1)Prof. GuoqiangMao

Guoqiang Mao(S'98-M'02-SM'08) received PhD in telecommunications engineering in 2002 fromEdith Cowan University. He was with the School of Electrical and InformationEngineering, the University of Sydney between 2002 and 2014. He joined theUniversity of Technology Sydney in February 2014 as Professor of WirelessNetworking and Director of Center for Real-time Information Networks. TheCenter is among the largest university research centers in Australia in thefield of wireless communications and networking. He has published 200 papers ininternational conferences and journals, which have been cited more than 4000times. He is an editor of the IEEE Transactions on WirelessCommunications (since 2014), IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (since2010) and received “Top Editor” award for outstanding contributions to the IEEETransactions on Vehicular Technology in 2011, 2014 and 2015. He is a co-chairof IEEE Intelligent Transport Systems Society Technical Committee onCommunication Networks. He has served as a chair, co-chair and TPC member in a largenumber of international conferences. His research interest includes intelligenttransport systems, applied graph theory and its applications intelecommunications, wireless sensor networks, wireless localization techniquesand network performance analysis.

(2)Dr.Xiaobo Qu

Dr Xiaobo Qu iscurrently a Senior Lecturer (Transport Engineering) with the School of Civiland Environmental Engineering, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), SydneyAustralia. Prior to his UTS appointment, he was a Senior Lecturer (TransportEngineering) in Griffith School of Engineering, Griffith University,Queensland, Australia. Dr Qu obtained his PhD, Master's degree, Bachelor'sdegree from the National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, andJilin University, respectively.

Dr Qu's researchis focused on practically improving transport safety, efficiency, equity, andsustainability through traffic flow and network modelling and optimisation. Hehas authored or co-authored over 50 journal articles published by leadinginternational peer reviewed transportation journals such as TransportationResearch Part A, Part B, Part C, Part E, Accident Analysis and Prevention, ASCE- Journal of Transportation Engineering, and Risk Analysis. He is a recipientof Ministry of Transport (Singapore) Minister's Innovation Award in 2009,President's Graduate Fellowship (Singapore) in 2010-2011, ASCE - Journal ofTransportation Engineering Outstanding Reviewer Award in 2013, GriffithUniversity Pro-Vice Chancellor Early Career Research Excellence Award in 2015,Griffith University Pro-Vice Chancellor Research Excellence Award (GroupCategory) in 2015, EPPM 2015 best paper award, and Australian GovernmentEndeavour Cheung Kong Fellowship in 2016.

Dr Qu also has agreat passion for teaching and scholarship. His teaching performance has alwaysbeen among the best (average teaching evaluation = 4.35/5). His teaching hasbeen distinguished by the Griffith University Dean's letter of outstanding inteaching in 2012, Griffith University Dean's Learning and Teaching Commendationin 2014, Griffith University Dean's Learning and Teaching Citation in 2015,nominee of lecturer of the year (finalist) in 2015, and three peer reviewedarticles in Learning & Teaching scholarship. Dr Qu has supervised two PhDstudents towards completion as their primary supervisor, and is currentlysupervising four PhD students as their primary supervisor.

(3)Dr.Tom Hao Luan

Dr. Tom H. Luanreceived the B.Sc. degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, in 2004, theM.Phil. degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2007, andthe Ph.D. degree from the University of Waterloo in 2012. Since December 2013,he has been the Lecturer in Mobile and Apps at the School of InformationTechnology, Deakin University, Melbourne Burwood, Australia. Dr. Luan’sresearch mainly focuses on the vehicular networking, mobile contentdistribution, fog computing, and mobile cloud computing. He has publishedaround 50 technical papers in international journals and conferences, includingTransactions on Mobile Computing, Transactions on Networking and Infocom.

(4)Prof.Changle Li

Changle Lireceived the Ph.D. degree in communication and information systems from XidianUniversity, China in 2005. Since then, he conducted his postdoctoral researchin Canada and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology(NICT), Japan, respectively. He has been a visiting scholar at the Universityof Technology Sydney (UTS) and is currently a professor with the State KeyLaboratory of Integrated Services Networks, Xidian University. He is an IEEESenior Member and his research interests include intelligent transportationsystems, vehicular networks, mobile ad hoc networks, and wireless sensornetworks.
